L'obligation de respecter les frontières et de renoncer à contester leurs tracés (1)[17]

L'obligation de l'intitulé est l'obligation juridique contractée par les parties à un traité ayant le statut de traité établissant une frontière entre elles et dont le sens ordinaire est qu'elles acceptent cette frontière. 'Accepter' une frontière, dit la Cour internationale de justice dans son arrêt du différend territorial entre la Libye et le Tchad, c'est 'tirer les conséquences juridiques de son existence, la respecter et renoncer à la contester pour l'avenir' (arrêt du 3 février 1994).
